How to make a free digital wedding invitation, step by step

A digital wedding invitation shouldn’t cost money or eat up a weekend. This is the quickest way to do it well: with its own website, a QR code and RSVPs landing on a dashboard by themselves.

Before you start: what to have ready

Ten minutes of preparation saves a lot of back-and-forth later. Gather this before you open the editor:

  • The couple’s names exactly as they should appear, and the date.
  • The time and address of each part of the day: ceremony, reception and party.
  • A well-lit photo for the cover, ideally one where both faces are clear.
  • The RSVP deadline: four to six weeks before the wedding is typical.
  • Whether there will be a shuttle bus, a pre-wedding party or meal choices, with the actual options.

1. Pick a design

Start with the designs. Each one is the real website running, not a screenshot: what you see is exactly what your guests will see. You can switch designs later without losing anything you have written.

2. Fill in the essentials

Open the editor and add the names, date, cover photo and venues. The preview updates as you type, and you don’t need an account to design it: the draft is saved in your browser.

3. Turn on only what you need

Story, photos, gift registry, shared photo album, pre-wedding party or parents and godparents: every section can be switched on or off. A short, clear invitation works better than one that tries to say everything, so if something doesn’t apply to your wedding, leave it off.

4. Set up the RSVP

Decide what to ask: whether guests are coming, who with — with each companion’s name —, which menu they prefer and whether they need a seat on the bus. Set the deadline and read how to collect wedding RSVPs so everyone replies on time.

5. Publish it for free

When it’s ready, press “Publish” and sign in with your Google account. No card is requested and there is no trial period: publishing is free, with one invitation per account. Here is everything that is included. From that moment your invitation has its own link and QR code.

6. Share it on WhatsApp and with the QR code

Send the link on WhatsApp to each guest or group, and use the QR code wherever a link can’t go: on a printed card for the grandparents, on the save the date or on a sign at the wedding itself. If you change something later, the link and the QR code stay the same.

Designing it needs no sign-up, and publishing it only needs a Google sign-in. At no step do you have to pay.

When the replies start coming in

Every reply lands on your dashboard: who is coming, with how many companions, menus, allergies and bus seats. From there you seat guests at their tables and download a PDF for every supplier. See it working in the dashboard of a sample wedding.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free to make a digital wedding invitation here?

Yes. Designing, publishing and managing the invitation with its dashboard is free, with no card and no guest limit. The only limit is one invitation per account.

Do I need to sign up to create it?

Not to design it: the draft is saved in your browser. You sign in with a Google account only to publish it.

Can I change the invitation after sending it?

Yes, as many times as you like. Changes show up instantly and the link and QR code don’t change.

What about guests who don’t use WhatsApp?

They get the same link by email or text message, or scan the QR code printed on a card. The invitation opens on any phone without installing anything.
